On Wednesday 2 July, teachers from vocational school Firda presented to Amelander installers, the municipality of Ameland and Learning Hub Friesland, a concept of two Short Advanced Courses (SACS). These short courses aim, among other things, to attract and enthuse newcomers to the installation sector; a crucial link in realising the energy transition.
During the meeting, the courses were reviewed. One is about Energy Management Systems, the other about Integral Building. The reactions of Ameland’s installers, will be taken into account to arrive at a final version.
Approach to attracting students
It was also discussed how to draw attention to the courses. Learning Hub Friesland previously researched smart ways to attract a wider group of trainees.
NESSIE
The intensive cooperation between education, business and the municipality is part of the European NESSIE project which is working on a practice-oriented curriculum that meets the rapidly changing needs in the sector.
Sustainable vocational education and accelerate 2035 ambition Ameland
This initiative not only invests in sustainable vocational education, but also in a strong regional labour market that is ready for the future. For the municipality of Ameland, participation in NESSIE project is one of the ways to jointly accelerate the realisation of the ambition to be fossil-free in energy by 2035.
Follow-up
Follow-up to the meeting is to jointly examine various Energy Management Systems and arrive at a suitable choice for Ameland.
